Reddiars Predominanely come under FC catergory but Reddy's Come under BC . OBC is the ultimate task for all to bring in One Category.

The names have been believed to be derived according to the regions they are spread across. Reddy in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Reddiar (Reddy + ar) in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, and Kerala. Reddy, Reddappa (Reddy + appa- signifying respect) in Karnataka.

The reddiyars became Zamindars ,later they revolted against the kings and formed reddy dynasty. Reddy title is used by so many communities kapu, kamma and velma. Later, the elite members who came from this communities maintained relations and originated reddy caste.
